Revealed to the world at the 2000 New York Auto Show, the Toyota Highlander went on sale in the USA in 2002, and quickly became Toyota's best selling SUV. The Highlander enjoyed this accolade up until 2006, when the Toyota RAV outsold it for the first time.
The Toyota Highlander (known as the Kluger in Japan and Australia) is a crossover SUV assembled in Kyushu, Japan. It is the crossover counterpart of the 4runner.
Recently, the Highlander has led the way hybrid technology proving that SUVs can be environmentally responsible, and the Toyota Highlander 2008 has taken this technology to a new level.
